The top cream mat is textured like stucco. It and the lower burgundy one were selected by the artist. Both are museum-quality 100% cotton. The print is backed with foamboard and is protected by an acid-free plastic bag.

Inspiration: The hymn Hosea written by Weston Priory, often sung in my church, inspired me. Lyrics are: "Come back to me with all your heart. Don't let fear keep us apart. Long have I waited for your coming home to me and living deeply our new life."
Here Jesus is just beginning his ministry. The drape color previews his loving sacrifice of Himself for us. I hoped, while painting, to show the Jewish Hebrew origins of Jesus, with olive skin and darker hair. I respect the many other ways that Jesus has been painted through the ages. I hope this image, offered from my heart with humility, expresses His endless compassion and love. Since the art was conceived to use for a counseling center, I had hoped to show Jesus welcoming people to draw closer to Him, to receive comfort and hope in the face of great difficulties. I especially wanted children coming into the center to feel welcomed and safe.
